Thrifting in San Francisco
Going to San Francisco for a thrifting spree was one of the highlights of the last 6 months. I was busy sourcing secondhand furniture for an office renovation in SF that I’m currently working on.
I love the process of mixing the old with the new. Hunting through vintage, retro and secondhand furniture is a great way to get really inspired. Taking a step away from the computer or magazines and walking into the tactile world of pre-loved furniture with its wild and wacky surprises is good for the soul!
NB. Tips for thrifting:
Have a list of things you’re looking for. It’s very easy to get side tracked during the hunt!
Even though you have a list - go with an open mind. Sometimes you’ll find a variation of the item you’re looking for that turns out to be better.
Bring hand sanitiser (just in case, heh).
Be patient. Take pictures of good items and be prepared to return to the same shop twice (you gotta shop around!).
Here are some images I captured throughout this journey. I think these photos show the chaos of the hunt for the perfect second hand piece.
